Adam Banton

Famous For...: His BMX Racing Skills

Bio:

Adam Banton likes to tell people that he rides BMX bikes for a living, "meaning he has no real job." In the early 1990s, his Dad brought home an electric guitar from work that someone was going to throw away. Adam picked it up from time to time, and about two years after that, he got his first acoustic guitar. Then in 1995, when he shattered his leg riding, Adam had to quit riding for 10 months while his leg healed. His parents bought him a Fender Stratocaster two months later in the hopes that he’d sell his bike. From that point on, playing guitar was an outlet for his pain, frustration, heartache and confusion or whatever was going on in his life. Since then, he’s written songs for BMX videos and released two CDs of his music.
