Bio:

Well known to film audiences for his role as the quiet vampire and Cullen clan member Jasper Hale in Twilight, his starring role as Sokka in M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender, and numerous other films and television appearances, Jackson Rathbone is an engaging young star whose varied talents keep him in constant motion within the entertainment industry.  After having recently completed filming of the two-part TwilightSaga finale Breaking Dawn, Rathbone went directly into the feature “Cowgirls and Angels” and is currently filming the lead role in the feature, Live at the Foxes Den, in which he performs numerous musical numbers as part of his role as Bobby Kelly.

In addition, Rathbone launched his production company, PatchMo Entertainment, with producing partner Patch Mackenzie. Their first venture was Girlfriend, a poignant coming of age story about a Down Syndrome boy in which Jackson also co-starred and wrote and performed the soundtrack. The film, received wonderful notices and played to SRO audiences and standing ovations at the Toronto and other film festivals in which it won several top honors marking an auspicious producing debut for PatchMo.  

Girlfriend will have its U.S. premiere in July 2011. From there Rathbone produced and is starring in legendary film director McG's new web seriesAim High as an undercover spy posing as a high school student.  The series is slated to debut later this year.Born in Singapore of American parents, Rathbone grew up traveling the world with his family until they made their permanent home in Texas.  There, he started doing musical theater with a local youth actors' program.  While in high school, Rathbone attended the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy in northern Michigan to focus on the study of acting.  He had planned to attend the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow following high school but L.A. called ... and Rathbone decided to pursue his passion full-time.

Success in television came rather quickly to the young actor, and he was cast as Disney Channel's entertainment news interviewer on Disney 411, followed by guest roles on network series The O.C. and Close to Home.  Rathbone went on to co-star in Valley of Light, an MOW for Hallmark Hall of Fame which led to his series regular role in ABC Family's Beautiful People and guest-star roles in episodes of The War at Home, The Cleaner, Criminal Minds and No Ordinary Family.

Rathbone's first feature films include prominent roles in Hurt, Big Stan, Senior Skip Day and Clive Barker's Dread, among others.  He has been featured in all films of the Twilight saga, including Twilight, New Moon andEclipse which explored his back story as a civil war hero. The first installment of the two-part saga finale, Breaking Dawn, will premiere worldwide November 14th, 2011.  For his starring role in The Last Airbender, Rathbone portrayed a dedicated warrior and performed many of his own stunts in the martial arts-inspired film.

Rathbone is as comfortable on stage behind a mic or set of drums as he is in front of a film camera, and exudes tremendous passion for his band, 100 Monkeys.  He plays most instruments (self-taught) including guitar, bass, keyboards and trumpet.  He sings both lead and supporting vocals in 100 Monkeys, which will once again tour the U.S. this summer.  The band has released live albums, and their second studio album, Liquid Zoo, is currently in release.  More information about the band, along with a full tour schedule, can be found at www.100monkeyusmusic.com <http://www.100monkeyusmusic.com> .
