Bio:

With more than 50 movies under his belt, actor Jeff Daniels is a familiar face
to audiences around the world.

Born in Athens, Georgia, Jeff grew up in Chelsea, Michigan, where his father still owns the local lumberyard.

After studying theater at Central Michigan University, he headed for New York, where he starred in a number of stage productions before embarking on a film career. Daniels’ movies include Ragtime, Terms of Endearment, Gettysburg, Dumb and Dumber, 101 Dalmations, Pleasantville, The Squid and the Whale and Because of Winn Dixie.

It was during his time as a struggling actor in New York that Jeff first picked up a guitar. "It was one of those things where I wanted to learn to play," says Daniels, "but the more I look back, it wasn't just playing the guitar or wanting to be a rock 'n' roll star. I wanted to write songs." Jeff has since written more 400 songs and released two CDs of his music: Grandfather’s Hat and Jeff Daniels Live and Unplugged.
