While Jesse Metcalfe may be best known for his rugged good looks and scandalous ways as the gardener on Desperate Housewives, he has other talents that few realize: Jesse is an aspiring musician. When he’s not acting, Jesse likes spending his spare time writing music or playing guitar. He also likes to perform. “I love playing to an audience,” says Jesse. “It’s really gratifying.” Jesse is now working on his debut CD, Darklight.

An only child who Waterford, Connecticut, Jesse graduated from The Williams School, in New London, CT but dropped out of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in order to pursue a career as a writer/director. Metcalfe moved to Los Angeles and attended an open casting call, successfully auditioning for the NBC soap opera Passions. He played Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald from July 1999-July 2004. Jesse made two guest appearances on the WB Network TV series Smallville as vindictive "meteor freak hunter" Van McNulty. Metcalfe returned to television as the teenage gardener John Rowland on the popular ABC TV drama Desperate Housewives. In 2006, Metcalfe's starred in the movie John Tucker Must Die and has several films set to open in 2008.
