Pete
Fisher was named general manager of the Grand Ole Opry in June of 1999, where
he oversees the activities of the world's longest-running radio show. Fisher
manages the day-to-day operations of the Grand Ole Opry House and produces its
weekly Opry shows. He also serves as Executive Producer of Grand Ole Opry
Live
and America's Grand Ole Opry
Weekend,
a two-hour syndicated radio
program heard on over 200 stations.

Fisher earned a bachelor's
degree from Middle Tennessee State University with a major in Recording
Industry Management, and was recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus in 2004. He
served as treasurer of Leadership Music and was on the organization's executive
committee and board of directors. 
He is a past president (1996 & 1997) of the Nashville Chapter of the
Recording Academy (NARAS) and served on its board of governors from 1992 to
1999.  He currently serves on the
board of directors for the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country
Music.
