Is there music in you?

by NAMM Staff | April 28th, 2008

You know that old song "I got the music in me"  Here's a question:  how do you know?  What exactly are the symptoms of having the music in oneself?  Are they:

a) unexplained tapping of the feet, pencils, pens, eating utensils, etc. when you favorite song comes on?

b) singing at the top of your lungs at every public opportunity -- National Anthem, Happy Birthday, etc.?

c) tapping the keys of every piano you pass (strumming all the strings of a guitar to create that Beatles Hard Days Night intro chord also counts)

d) Making air guitar motions while you dance to any rock song (come on, you've done it)

Now that we've established the fact that you probably do, in fact, have the music in you.  How do we (or you) get it out exactly?  Well, you've come to the right place.  Here at wannaplaymusic.com, we've assembled a lot of helpful news, content and videos so you can figure out exactly how you want to express yourself musically.  There are no right and wrong answers.  No right instrument for everyone or "correct" way to play it.  This is about getting in touch with that part of yourself that always WISHED you could play, but didn't know how.  Enjoy the beginning of that journey.
