Kevin Bacon May Play a Villain In New 'X-Men' Movie But He's Also a Champion for Music Education
While Kevin Bacon recently revealed his obsession with zombies and spoke about his most recent role as a superpowered villain Sebastian Shaw in "X-Men: First Class" to USA Today, Bacon is also showing his support for the subject of another upcoming movie showcasing the benefits of school music education.
"The Sound of Perfection" is an inspiring true story filled with heart and humor that spotlights the positive influence music education has on the life of an individual.
According to the producers of the movie, school music education in the United States continues to fall victim from budget cuts and drives home that music education needs to be recognized for the deep and lasting influence it brings to all who participate in the activity, and its importance within the music world and beyond.
"My favorite memories from junior high are of playing in the band," said Kevin Bacon. "That feeling of camaraderie, of collaboration. The chills you get when a song comes together and actually sounds good. Band was a place where even the most awkward kids could shine. Music should be a part of every child's education."
