Drum Circle Music (DCM) training programs include fun-filled days that are packed with tools, techniques, and fun and enriching activities you can use right away. They are a unique and intensive learning experience that will leave you saying "I can do this!"

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

DCM is a multiple-discipline approach to group and personal empowerment that uses music, movement, process and program design elements. We provide students with knowledge, skills, techniques, activities, and concepts that make it easy for them to design and present programs for a variety of populations.

DCM for EDUCATION

DCM supports the highest standards in Music Education and helps educators create compelling and enriching activities that support their curriculum goals. DCM is used by hundreds of Music Educators, from K through College. As a certified Orff-Schulwerk Practitioner and MENC/AOSA conference presenter, Kalani understands and supports the goals of Music Educators and community music facilitators.

DCM for HEALTH & WELLNESS

DCM incorporates the same elements that have been proven to relieve stress, reduce burnout, improve mood and foster a general sense of wellbeing. Kalani has presented at two National American Music Therapy Association Conferences and is a Continuing Education Provider for the Certification Board of Music Therapists. With over 20 years of group facilitation experience and a background in fitness, he helps DCM practitioners create programs that address all aspects of facilitation - mind, body, and spirit.

COURSE PREPARATION

Participants are required to read the book Together in Rhythm and watch the DVD. This book, along with The Amazing Jamnasium, serve as the curriculum and foundation for the training. Returning DCM practitioners are asked to review the material as well as any notes from previous training programs. Books are available from most major retailers.

ABOUT KALANI

Kalani is internationally known as a percussionist, drum circle facilitator and educator. His presentations link music, movement, verbal and visual arts with healthy practices that build stronger relationships and foster personal and professional growth. Kalani's work is represented at conferences, retreats, publications, media and training programs. He is the recipient of seven DRUM! Magazine reader's poll awards and is the author of 15 instructional videos, 5 DVDs, 3 CDs and 7 books. His workshops attract Music Educators, Music Therapists, and drum circle & community music facilitators. He is the founder of the Drum Circle MusicTM approach to creative expression and Rhythm Gym programs that combine drumming, creativity, and aerobic exercise. Kalani holds a Bachelor of Music degree and is a certified Orff-Schulwerk practitioner.
